Spawner suggestion

I've been making a mob grinder with spawners, and i've noticed that spawners don't actually work, unless you're in a 7 block radius of them, this means that if you're 8 blocks or more away from the spawner it won't work. Is it a possibility to put that range higher so mob grinders actually work?

naw vanilla spawners work like that, you cant leave the chunk

Vanilla spawner has a radius of 16 blocks. The server modified it to 7 block

oh okay yeah, after double checking the radius is reduced to 7 to avoid too many mobs from spawning in one chunk my bad

It also apply's to height, so you can't stand down and let them fall down. But I've already noticed another fix for the lag issue, mobs just despawn when there are to many in a certain area.
