Hello! I've been fairly active on the past server for about a week.
I'm getting kind of burnt out already because the game feels vaguely punishing towards newer players. It's very difficult to feel like i'm playing the same game, or even a similar game, to those who have committed intensive time towards the game. It's hard to be excited for events or rare spawns when they're pretty consistently overrun and won in matters of 1 or 2 seconds by people who have questions and answers memorized at this point, or they have ten warp points to blip between to catch a shiny or a legendary. It's come to the point that lately i've been more or less ignoring the events and rare, cool stuff because there's no point in chasing it, someone's already caught it. I started to focus on trying to just grind out quests, but those are kind of a slog to try to get through, especially early on. The economy is also very intensive to get into from the perspective of a newcomer. You have to manage three different currencies, two can serve the same purpose but not always, and the big bucks to actually try to break into the market are locked behind the grind quests.
This sucks because I love Pixelmon, and i've always wanted to be a part of a server like this. I've always wanted to participate and be a part of a community like this, I came in with aspirations to be a gym leader, but it feels crushing when at every turn and for every single event i'm pitted against people who have hundreds upon hundreds of hours put in. There's no point in playing when I know I don't stand a chance
